Visa on arrival Maputo Airport recently began accepting credit card payments for visas. Some visitors have been denied Visa On Arrival if their passports have not had 6 months validity.
Taxis are safe and a cheap way to move around. Official taxis are in quite decent shape and you may ask Polana staff help in case of doubt (the Pink ones with an M sponsored by a local bank are a good choice).
Taxis are available in most of the tourist-heavy areas, such as at hotels. The service costs between $3 and $7, depending on how far you’re going. You can also get in a Laranijnhas, which is a scooter taxi covered with an orange shell. These taxis are only available at Hotel Cardoso.
Unfortunately, you won’t find Uber or Taxify in Maputo. But there is Mango! This is the most common and reliable cab service in the city and you will recognise the cabs easily by their green and yellow colouring. Climate: Maputo has a tropical savanna climate and stays pretty warm year-round.
