Siem Reap is probably the safest place in Cambodia and that is why it has become a well-visited tourist destination. Petty crime, unfortunately, cannot be excluded, while some other major criminal acts are not very common. Tourists should never leave their valuables unattended anywhere because even a hotel room is not safe of thieves and they will find a way in even though it is locked.

You can book a taxi at the transportation information counter inside and outside the Arrivals hall of T1 International Terminal. A taxi for four people from Siem Reap Airport to the city costs 40,000 KHR or 10 US dollar. Taxis are available between 06:30 hours and 23:00 hours.

Re: Uber available? Uber is not necessary in Siem Reap because, as Lennybruce advises, there are countless tuk tuks which are very cheap and are a convenient way to get around. For long distances there are plenty of drivers available which can be arranged through reception at your hotel. They are also very cheap.

Siem Reap International Airport consists of two terminals – one for international flights and one for domestic flights. The airport is very small and all passengers alight straight onto the runway by the main building.
